About the Organization
The mission of the Compensation Board is to determine a reasonable budget for the participation of the Commonwealth toward the total cost of office operations for constitutional Officers, and to assist those Officers and their staff through automation, training and other means, to improve efficiencies and to enhance the level of services provided to the citizens of Virginia.
About the Position
The Executive Administrative Assistant will provide a broad range of program, administrative, operational, and executive administrative support to the Executive Secretary and individual agency program areas. The work assigned to this position is characterized by numerous coordinative and administrative support requirements and involves daily contact with the public and state officials.
Minimum Qualifications
Progressive experience serving in administrative roles which includes work flow analyses, project management, policy interpretation and application; Considerable knowledge and experience of office practices, procedures and techniques to include drafting official documents such as executive correspondence, memoranda and emails; Considerable knowledge and experience of computer software packages used in a business setting to include Microsoft Office Suite; Demonstrated ability to develop and compile presentation materials (charts/graphs), coordinate meeting agendas, notes, action items and follow-up; Demonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate the Executive Secretary’s instructions and requests with various individuals, agencies and departments; Demonstrated ability to arrange conference calls, WebEx meetings, video conferences and other types of projects, office or department meetings; Demonstrated ability to compile both quantitative and narrative reports on agency wide activities; Experience establishing, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic file systems per office and project requirements; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of persons both orally and in writing; Demonstrated ability to coordinate travel and reimbursements for high level executives; Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive and confidential materials and knowledge of FOIA; Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, coordinate multiple assignments and meet critical deadlines.
Additional Considerations
High School Graduate or equivalent. Knowledge of state government policies, processes and practices to include eVA is preferred. Experience with office management is preferred.
