Job description
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to operate, install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the operations function and achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
· Operates equipment as required for production requirements.
· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
· Reviews work orders to determine work priorities. Schedules repair, maintenance, set up and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. Fabricates or modifies machines, tools or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
· Active team participant while operating within the team boundaries.
· Accountable with other team members for team performance.
· Identifies performance gaps and opportunities for improvement.
· Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
· Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
· Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
· Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
· Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
· Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
· Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
· Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
· Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
· Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
· Escalates issues as appropriate.
· Follows standard work team practices as appropriate.
· Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
· Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with management.
· Reviews production, quality control and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
· Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
· Requisitions tools, equipment and supplies required for operations.
· Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
· Willingness to serve on cross functional teams to ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Production maintenance preferred. An Associate Degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance a plus. Four years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC. Vacuum furnace experience is preferred. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Mechanical knowledge: 4 years (Preferred)
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.78 - $32.27 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
