What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Engineer position at Complete Building Services?
About the Role
Complete Building Services is hiring a DC 3rd Class Building Engineers for the Washington DC - Unified Communications Center (UCC). The UCC receives and processes calls to 911 and the District's customer service line, 311. During major emergencies, the center becomes the District’s Emergency Operations Center (Mayor's Command Center) and provides a central location for multiple agencies to address any variety of situations. Your performance will be vital to keep UCC running at optimal efficiency and ultimately helping all the people that are calling through the center. We have three shifts that we run on site since it has to be monitored 24 hours a day.
Some duties include:
Operating/adjusting building HVAC systems for efficiency and comfort
Maintaining/troubleshooting and repairing the following systems/equipment:
- Chillers and chilled water systems
- Building HVAC equipment
- Boilers and hot water heating systems
- Domestic water and plumbing systems
- Electrical systems including lighting, motors, starters, contactors, etc.
You Should Have
- Active DC 3rd Class License - we can not consider anyone without it
- CFC certification
- 10 years of experience
At least three (3) years of recent (within the past five {5} years)
experience in the operation and maintenance of equipment and comparable in complexity to systems
- Knowledge of BAS
- Must have own hand tools
