Full-Time RN Nurse Educator / Infection Preventionist
Responsibilities :
Providing professional and technical guidance to subordinate nursing staff and participates in all management functions of the nursing department.
IP collaborates and consults with physicians, managers, and staff for the management and prevention of infectious diseases.
Plan, organize, develop, and direct all staff development educational programs throughout the facility.
Providing learning opportunities that will enable all employees to gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to perform their assigned duties safely and effectively.
Perform all duties in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing and Administrator.
Qualifications :
A professionally trained nurse that has earned a certificate / diploma or degree in nursing.
A professionally trained medical technologist (or clinical laboratory scientist) that has earned at least an associate’s degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science.
A professionally trained microbiologist that has earned at least a bachelor’s degree in microbiology.
A professionally trained epidemiologist that has earned at least a bachelor’s degree in epidemiology.
Ability to work independently or part of a group.
Leadership experience
Communication skills
Computer knowledge.
Previous long-term care experience is required .
License :
Must have an active RN Registered Nurse license in Connecticut.
