Full-Time RN Nurse Educator/ Infection Preventionist

Responsibilities:

· Providing professional and technical guidance to subordinate nursing staff and participates in all management functions of the nursing department.

· IP collaborates and consults with physicians, managers, and staff for the management and prevention of infectious diseases.

· Plan, organize, develop, and direct all staff development educational programs throughout the facility.

· Providing learning opportunities that will enable all employees to gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to perform their assigned duties safely and effectively.

· Perform all duties in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.

· Other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing and Administrator.

Qualifications:

· A professionally trained nurse that has earned a certificate/diploma or degree in nursing.

· Ability to work independently or part of a group.

· Leadership experience

· Communication skills

· Computer knowledge.

· Previous long-term care experience is required.

License:

· Must have an active RN Registered Nurse license in Connecticut.
