Medical Records Director Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update medical records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all medical records.
- Process requests for medical records and information from healthcare providers, residents, and authorized parties.
- Enter and update resident information in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Perform regular audits of medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist healthcare staff with accessing and interpreting medical records.
- Respond to inquiries regarding medical records in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and documentation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health information management is a plus.
- Previous experience in medical records management or a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
