This position is in-person at our Toms River, NJ corporate office.
Complete Care Management is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Associate Vice President of Payroll to oversee payroll operations across our multi-state organization. This in-person role is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing for our employees while driving efficiency and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities :
Payroll Operations & Compliance :
Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws , including tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and reporting requirements.
Ensure proper payroll deductions, including benefits, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
Lead the payroll close process , ensuring payroll cycles are completed accurately and on schedule.
Collaborate with the HRIS team to optimize payroll systems and integrations.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement :
Supervise and mentor payroll team members, including Payroll Leads and Processors .
Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance across all locations.
Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies or inefficiencies.
Collaboration & Reporting :
Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure payroll aligns with company policies and financial objectives.
Generate payroll reports and analytics for executive leadership, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and service providers.
Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll issues and employee inquiries.
Qualifications :
5 years of payroll management experience , preferably in a multi-state, high-volume environment.
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements .
Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms (ADP, UKG, or similar preferred).
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a payroll team .
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
