Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws, collecting specimens, and ensuring patient comfort throughout the process. The Phlebotomist will work closely with patients and healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely specimen collection.
EMR knowledge to enter and print orders.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and care.
- Collect and process specimens according to established protocols.
- Ensure the accurate labeling and handling of specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort during the blood sampling process.
- Record vital signs as needed prior to specimen collection.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and infection control protocols in the laboratory setting.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and quality assurance.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and knowledge:
- Strong understanding of patient care principles.
- Knowledge of human physiology relevant to blood collection processes.
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and specimen collection processing.
- Familiarity with medical terminology used in laboratory settings.
