Unit Secretary Qualifications & Responsibilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous long term care experience, as a unit secretary is preferred
- NJ CNA required
- Answer phones with high call volume at times
- Knowledge of medical records and central supply
- Ability to provide great customer service
- Scheduling
- Pass out ice water to residents, make beds, and answer resident call lights
- Report all accidents and incidents you observe as soon as possible
- Report all changes in the resident’s condition to the Charge Nurse or Unit Manger
- Transfer hospital appointments and schedule doctor appointments
- Ability to work independently or part of a group
- Computer knowledge
- Other duties as assigned by the Unit Manager, Director of Nursing, and Administrator
