Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support and care to individuals in need. Duties
As a Personal Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Preparing nutritious meals and assisting with meal planning to meet dietary requirements.
- Performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe environment.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs to ensure the health and safety of clients.
- Providing companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation and activities.
- Assisting with mobility and transportation needs, including accompanying clients to appointments.
- Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation as required.
- Administering CPR or first aid when necessary, ensuring immediate response in emergencies.
- Supporting clients with hospice care as needed, providing comfort during challenging times.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in home health or personal care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with patient care protocols, including knowledge of vital signs monitoring.
- Skills in meal preparation and cooking to cater to individual dietary needs.
- A background in hospice care is a plus, demonstrating compassion during sensitive situations.
- Certification in CPR or first aid is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for building rapport with clients and their families.
