Machine Operator - 1st Shift

Privately owned and operated for 21 years, Complete Design & Packaging (CDP) has grown from a small brown box manufacturer into a state-of-the-art sheet feeder plant specializing in high graphic packaging and Point-Of-Purchase displays.

We currently have an opening for a Machine Operator at our Manor location. This is a first shift position (7 am to 3 pm).  Under general supervision, the ideal candidate will perform semi-skilled production tasks in a manufacturing environment. Work involves setting up the machines used, ensuring they are properly maintained, and operating them to perform a variety of functions; such as converting, printing, banding, wrapping, or forming corrugated material into finished products within the established quality, productivity, safety, and cost standards.

How to Be Successful

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be a High School Graduate or the equivalent.
• Be capable of working in a production environment.
• Be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
• Be willing to submit to a drug test and background check.
• Be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Oversee necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup.
• Set up machine by typing in order to start a production cycle.
• Feed raw material into or through machines for processing on the production floor.
• Remove work pieces from production equipment.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure that boxes have required dimensions and zero print defects.
• Verify alignment of print, slots and cutting dies on machines.
• Move cutters or material manually to engage automatic feeding mechanisms.
• Observe machine operation and adjust inks while on press to ensure conformance with specified tolerances.
• Select cutting speeds, feed rates, and depths of cuts.
• Set pull wheels, print pressure and anilox pressures.
• Replace doctor blades, anvils and filters.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to maximize safety and productivity.
• Prepare load tags and record production output as required.
• Inspect equipment and update machine maintenance list according to mandated schedule.
• Perform related tasks as required or directed by a supervisor.
