Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome patients, visitors, and vendors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Register new patients and update existing patient information accurately in the electronic medical records system.
Answer incoming phone calls promptly, screen and direct calls appropriately, and take detailed messages when necessary.
Schedule appointments for patients, ensuring efficient use of provider time and proper documentation of appointments.
Verify patient insurance information, collect copayments, and process payments accurately.
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, ensuring that patient forms, brochures, and other relevant materials are readily available.
Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork.
Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely flow of patients and efficient utilization of exam rooms.
Respond to patient inquiries, provide information about services, and address concerns or complaints in a professional and empathetic manner.
Manage and maintain office supplies inventory, placing orders as needed.
Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely submission of insurance claims.
Adhere to all HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to handle a high volume of patients, calls, and administrative tasks.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is beneficial.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
