The trailer mechanic is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of trailers to ensure a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles. This position requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge of trailer mechanical diagnosis and repair and body damage repair. A comprehensive understanding of fleet maintenance operations and DOT standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Determine trailer condition by performing inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts
- Perform all preventive maintenance inspections, state and federal mandated safety inspections & complete repairs in accordance with DOT standards
- Maintain trailer appearance; accurate repair and service records
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience working as trailer mechanic/repair technician
- Be a self-starter and can work with minimal supervision during your workday
- Possess a valid driver’s license – Class A CDL is highly preferred
