We are searching for an experienced and detail-oriented professional to lead our payroll team, streamline processes, and deliver exceptional service to our clients. - Lead and Manage Teams: Supervise, mentor, and coach payroll specialists to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to payroll deadlines
- Optimize Operations: Oversee packaging, printing, and account management functions while identifying opportunities to enhance payroll processes and reduce errors
- Team Development: Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with team members, provide career coaching, and assist in developing training strategies
- Software Expertise: Gain in-depth knowledge of our software systems to troubleshoot complex payroll issues and support staff as Tier 2 technical support
- Client Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with business owners and HR/payroll/accounting teams to deliver exceptional service
- Client Data Privacy & Security: Ensure client data protection policies are followed, monitor compliance with security protocols, and safeguard sensitive client information against unauthorized access
- Data Integrity: Manage ACH transactions, manage general ledger and 401(k) uploads, and ensure the accurate and secure handling of HR/payroll data
- Manage Client Relationships: Directly oversee a small portfolio of clients, ensuring exceptional service, fostering strong relationships, and driving retention
- Quarterly/Annual Reporting: Support tax department during quarter-end and year-end reporting
- Special Projects: Assist with software updates, process improvements, and other projects as required
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required
- Technical Experience: Experience with UKG Ready or cloud-based HR applications preferred and strong proficiency with MS Excel
- Relevant Experience: 3–5 years of payroll management or supervisory experience, preferably in a payroll bureau, PEO, or similar high-volume environment and 7 years of customer service, accounting, or HR experience
- Professional Certifications: CPP or FPC certification is a plus
- Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on accuracy and detail
- Excellent Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
- Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team
- Problem Solver and Troubleshooter: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions that meet client needs and expectations
