Technical Service Advisor

Hours: M-F 7AM-5PM, company issued phone and is expected to answer the phone outside of business hours to assist customers with troubleshooting

The ideal candidate resides in a location that can reasonably commute to Pleasantville, NJ, New Castle, DE, Dover, DE and Salisbury, MD. Our new Technical Services Department is a department of one with an extensive growth opportunity. The TSA will build strong relationships with customers and team members to drive technical service success that will improve customer service resulting in customer retention, increased profitability, and team camaraderie. The challenge for the TSA will be to juggle
collaboration with team members to understand customer requirements, promote the sale of company products, and to provide technical and sales support to our customers.

• Provide technical support to our customers and team members to diagnose errors or technical
• problems and determine proper solutions.
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings.
• Diagnose problems with Johnstone Supply equipment. Provide field product support for all
• branches and all products.
• Provide technical research and support for customers and team members.
• Develops and presents live educational programs and promotions in concert with the marketing
• department for customers and team members.
• Coordinates vendor technical information and/or vendor product training workshops designed to
• support customers and team members.
• Maintains knowledge of HVAC/R fundamentals and product lines by knowing the function
• of Johnstone Supply product lines, and where and how they are used; knowing the vendors
• carried and their respective lines; knowing specific features and benefits of most purchased
• products; staying informed of new products; and utilizing opportunities to further educate
• self, customers, and team members.
• Supports sales transactions to ensure sales are increased through add-on and professional
• recommendations for product usage.
• Provides educational information to the sales team to ensure the sales team is knowledgeable of
• products to promote products that will increase sales and services recommended by the marketing activities of the Branch.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports.
• The ideal person will have these talents, skills and abilities:
• 10 years HVAC/R experience with extensive knowledge installing and troubleshooting
• systems.
• HVAC/R degree, license or certification is preferred.
• Extensive background with installing and troubleshooting refrigeration systems, commercial
• equipment and ductless VRV/VRF systems.
• Proficient knowledge and the drive to keep current with the latest developments and
• technology in fields such as refrigeration, electricity, air conditioning, heat pumps,
• ventilation, hydronics, ductless mini splits and VRF systems.
• Ability to provide system matchups and duct design.
• Real life experiences with residential and commercial applications.
• A certification in EPA universal and 410A.
• Problem solving and critical thinking abilities to be a stellar problem solver.
• The ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
• Ability to learn the ins and outs of our business and capitalize on opportunities to make an
• impact.
• Time management skills to be disciplined and organized.
• The capability and flexibility to be able to travel by car to contractor sites in areas
• surrounding our branch locations in Pleasantville, NJ, New Castle, DE, Dover, DE, and
• Salisbury, MD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills to provide
• technical support and educational training sessions for customers and team members.
• Proficient knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $63,911.00 - $75,000.00 per year
