Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
- Must have Medical Assistant diploma
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height
- Show patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers
- Record patients’ medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records
- Assisting surgeons with procedures such as excisions, hemorrhoid banding, etc.
- Perform general office duties such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms
- Act as a liaison with other departments and advocates for patients with a positive customer services approach
- Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean and supplies stocked
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
