What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Complete Staffing Solutions?
Reporting to the BU Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting various areas of the customer activity including processing and submitting proper invoices for collection, coordinating the accounting related to customer invoicing, including various account reconciliations. Will work closely with other members of the department and company to report timely and accurate financial data. Ensure the department’s internal controls are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.

- Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly journal entries including but not limited to customer deposits and accounts receivable as needed.
- Responsible for account reconciliation and analysis for balance sheet accounts including but not limited to accounts receivable, customer deposits and other accounts as needed.
- Responsible to review daily cash receipts for appropriate coding and customer application and then reconcile to bank statement activity.
- Monitor AR aging and follow up on past due customer balances on a regular basis.
- Monitor intercompany activity and confirm proper eliminating balances for month end close with intercompany partner.
- Responsible to review customer invoices for appropriate sales tax allocation and related accounting activity for accrued sales tax.
- Confirm outstanding sales rep commissions balances monthly with VP of sales and provide support for proper accrual balance each period end.
- Assist with accounts receivable collections and aging report preparation.
- Maintain the accounts receivable sub-ledger including month end and year end closing tasks and reporting.
- Prepare various audit schedules for quarterly reviews/year end audits.
- Prepare various schedules required for internal SOX compliance.
- Assist other team members with ad hoc projects and requests as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 1 years of accounting experience
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Solid systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to develop and maintain effective working relationships across all levels within the organization
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team depending on the task
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
