General Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the HR Director, the Professional Development Specialist will design, implement, and facilitate training sessions to enhance employee development and ensure program effectiveness. This role requires flexibility, as the Professional Development Specialist will conduct training across multiple locations and assist with program improvement.
 
Essential Job Functions:  
Responsibility
Indicate % of time (5% or more):

Training Development and Administration

  • Update training materials.
  • Submit all trainings to NECPERS for certification
  • Enter employee trainings records into agency software programs.
  • Plan and implement all staff conferences three times per year.
  • Ensure new hires complete onboarding and the necessary training to meet licensure regulations.
Training Facilitation & Coaching
  • Lead training sessions for staff in areas such as youth development, social emotional learning, classroom management, etc.
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Adapt training methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to after-school program staff to improve performance and professional growth.
  • Observe after-school program staff and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
  • Work closely with site coordinators and program directors to identify training and coaching needs.
  • Ensure all training programs align with agency goals and compliance standards.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines established by the agency.
  • Show flexibility in scheduling to accommodate training and coaching needs.
  • Maintain an organized and professional training environment.
Other:
  • Attend and participate in agency and external training opportunities and meetings as requested.
  • Follow up on all written and verbal communications within 24 hours.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration across programs to ensure training consistency.

  • Knowledge Completely KIDS company requirements including but not limited to the Employee Handbook and all organization-wide policies for compliance and compliance procedures affecting specific duties and responsibilities.
Work Experience
  • Experience in training, coaching, or facilitating workshops.
  • Experience in curriculum development is a plus.
  • Prior experience working in education, after-school programs, or employee development is preferred.
 
Education Level:   If applicable, also include the type of degree desired.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or University in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field preferred strongly preferred but not required.

Work is performed within an office, classroom, or training environment. This position hours are typically 10:30 – 6:00 with coaching/training daily.
