Job Overview:
The Complex Autonomic Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and supporting the medical staff. This position requires knowledge of medical terminology, administrative support, and clinical procedures.
Duties:
- Greet all patients in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
- Facilitate the check-in process which includes verifying relevant patient information
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- Responsible for opening and closing the clinic
- Provide medical administrative support such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing tasks
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required
- Proficient in medical terminology and basic life support techniques
- Familiarity with medical practices and the care of complex disorder clusters is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent patient service
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Able to easily navigate a computer and learn new software
Requirements:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems is advantageous
Working conditions:
