Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine tests and blood draws
- Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatments, and medications
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow
- Assist with medical administrative tasks, such as insurance verification and billing
- Monitor patients remotely using Remote Physiologic Devices
- Assist healthcare providers in drafting and executing chronic care management plans
- Coordinate with local hospitals to ensure prompt post-discharge transitional care management
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification preferred but not required
- Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
- Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) procedures
- Ability to accurately take and record vital signs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the clinic and our patients
