Skilled Aerospace Assembler

An Aerospace Assembler performs tasks that are necessary to the production process. They aid in the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of component parts and products. Assemblers must have an aptitude for mechanics, an eye for detail, and an understanding of tooling. This person must also understand the importance of good craftsmanship. They must also maintain tidy work areas and follow detailed instructions to meet all safety and quality requirements. Assembler Skills and Qualifications:
- Read and speak English clearly
- US citizen
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent hand-eye coordination or manual dexterity
- Mechanically inclined & manufacturing experience
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Must have good eyesight, including depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate between colors
- Safety-minded
- Focus on quality work & attention to detail
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
Assembler Job Duties:
- Ensure working environment is clean and safe
- Listen to and follow directions from supervisors
- Study and interpret assembly instructions
- Produce parts, components, or assemblies by assembling parts and subassemblies
- Read and interpret blueprints and sketches
- Verify specifications
- Read parts list
- Determine if all parts are present
- Assemble parts and components
- use mechanical inspection tools, hand tools, and power tools (i.e., riveting, install Helio coils, etc.)
- Part marking and labeling to mil spec requirement
- Complete all quality documentation
- Help resolve assembly and production issues with others
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed
- Report errors
- Forward orders for supplies
