Position Overview: This position will play a role in maintaining our financial records in our accounting software and support our accounting and reporting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bookkeeping tasks, including recording journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of month end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.
- Assist with the maintenance of accounting systems for financial transactions.
- Maintain schedules and roll forwards for certain accounts and reconcile to the general ledger.
- Assist with cash application/cash management and bank account reconciliations.
- Support management through the generation and analysis of reports.
- Assist with accumulating support for auditors.
- Assist with the monitoring for compliance with internal controls in the department.
- Assist with monitoring revenue recognition and software capitalization.
- Act as a backup for other areas in the department if needed.
- Financial analysis, special projects and other related department projects as needed.
Other important Responsibilities:
- Operate accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
- Check figures, posting and documents for accuracy.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.
- Compile, statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and profits and losses.
- Code documents according to company procedures.
- Reconcile documents and reports discrepancies found in records.
- As part of the EMS- Environment Management System, will meet compliance obligations and accountability by contributing but not limited to the company's recycling guidelines, proper waste and other environmental performance practices.
- Perform other job functions, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of accounting experience
- BA in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in written format.
- Have a professional demeanor, strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Willingness to work as an active contributor to a team
- Dedication to accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work on multiple-overlapping objectives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
