The position provides oversight to Compliance (Quality control, Quality Assurance, Safety and Security), Process engineering including manufacturing yield optimization, reduction of waste and Continuous Improvement. Responsible for ensuring processes that maximize efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness before a product is produced through continuous improvement methodologies.

Position Overview: This role is focused on optimization of production processes from industrialization to production ramp up. The position provides oversight to Compliance (Quality control, Quality Assurance, Safety and Security), Process engineering including manufacturing yield optimization, reduction of waste and Continuous Improvement. Responsible for ensuring processes that maximize efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness before a product is produced through continuous improvement methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance: Establish quality control protocols for raw materials and components as well as finished products. Design inspection processes and provide guidance on how to maintain consistent quality from the beginning of production. Identify potential risks and pitfalls, e.g. equipment failures or other disruptions and develop strategies to mitigate these issues through process improvement, alternative suppliers of materials or altered equipment. Ensure full compliance of operations (ISO9001, ISO14001...) and safety standard in accordance with New Jersey Law. Manage a team of 35 people across 7 shifts for QA, Safety & Security.
- Process Engineering: . Monitor daily yield performance across factory and identify root causes via engineering tools such as FMEA, SPC statistics... Propose and lead deployment of best manufacturing practices. Project management for NPI. Manage a team of 12-15 Engineers/technicians to support 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Continuous improvement: Establish and drive continuous improvement program in manufacturing area. Drive yield improvement programs based on Lean principle (Black belt recommended). Define qualification needs for new product introduction in close cooperation with R&D department. Determine best methods, tools and equipment for each job, reducing waste and improving cycle times before production starts.
- Automation and Technology integration: Recommend opportunities for automation, robotics, or advanced technologies to improve efficiency and reduce manual labor in the process. Works very closely with R&D Automation team to define functional requirement / Design and ensure deployment into manufacturing environment. Participate in regular review with R&D and senior management to identify key milestones and anticipate manufacturing ramp up
- Master's in industrial engineering, operations management, Mechanical Engineering
- A minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in Engineering management or related field in high volume manufacturing environment (Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Automotive) .
- Very strong analytical skillsets
- Experienced in Lean Manufacturing deployment across organization (Kaizen, VSM...)
- Familiar with ERP tools
- 5-10 years of leadership experience required
- Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams required.
- Occasional travel to suppliers and partners
