Summary
We are seeking a Payroll Manager / Office Manager to join our team at Composite Manufacturing. This role is vital in ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with financial regulations. The Payroll Manager will play a key role in supporting our mission of quality and excellence in the medical manufacturing sector.
Responsibilities
Payroll Management
- Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll in Paylocity
- Manage related payroll activities (i.e. garnishments, employment verifications, support orders).
- Update payroll records by recording changes including insurance coverage, loan payments, salary increases
- Process 401K contributions
- Process health insurance contributions through payroll
- Manage timeclock administration
- Be comfortable to wear many hats and take on additional tasks
- Match, reconcile and audit insurance benefit invoices
- Enter payroll figures into the general ledger semi-monthly
- Periodically audit and investigate accounting discrepancies
- Email Invoices to AP and print weekly checks
Support Human Resources Tasks
- Coordinate onboarding including orientation, document collection and training introduction tasks
- Ensure new hires set up with tools necessary to do job by coordinating set up directly or with hiring manager
- Contact IT for new hire set up; monitors, keyboards, mouse, logmein, etc.
- Administer employee benefit enrollments, payroll deductions and changes.
- Coordinate employee offboarding process
- Assist with effective management of worker’s compensation and safety programs
- Maintain employee files according to record retention requirements
- Order business cards
- Maintain PPE safety glasses inventory
- Assist Head of HR as needed
Customer Service / Shipping
- Support Operations by printing weekly orders, preparing shipping labels and scanning weekly processed orders
- Make banking deposits, as needed
Competencies
- 3 Relevant and transferable experience
- Experience with payroll processing
- Exposure with accounting software, we use Intuitive
- Have experience working with Excel spreadsheets
- Have a strong command of basic accounting principles
- Experience with employee onboarding and termination processing
- Exposure to onboarding tasks
- Interest in supporting areas of Human Resources (compliance, WC, safety, culture, talent development, etc.)
- Approachable yet strong ability to maintain professional and personal boundaries
- Bilingual Spanish a plus
- Experience with Paylocity a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook)
