We care for our employees and believe work-life balance is a must.The Kitchen Assistant/Prep-Line Cook is a multi-skilled position required to provide a general level of restaurant assistance to the supervisory team including but not limited to general food preparation, kitchen duties, customer service, and front-end and cleaning responsibilities. Checking in orders and putting away all food/supplies in the correct storage location, organizing inventory according to FIFO (First In, First Out). The Kitchen Assistant/Prep-Line Cook is a visible position within the restaurant and must be able to offer our guests an atmosphere of a “home away from home “feel while participating in a role that ensures the viability and reputation of the restaurant. This position will require the right candidate to be “hands-on” for banquet events on/and offsite. Essential Skills

- High School diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate or related work experience.
- Maintains a current Serve Safe Food Handlers Certification
- Ability to work under pressure – skilled problem solver
- Ability to follow directions and to work on a team with friendly and clear communication skills.
- Optimum customer service skills are a must.
- Positive attitude and pleasant demeanor.
- Competent in the use of current technologies, such as basic computer skills and programs including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and time management documentation.
- Must be able to travel and hold a current Drivers License
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for maintaining dishwashing and equipment.
- Use of chemicals for dish machines
- Maintains clean dishes and other wares
- Ability to train and understand how to operate dishwashing equipment safely.
- Clears and cleans tables.
- Cleaning e.g. sweeping, mopping floors, wiping down counters and walls. Maintaining walk-in refrigerator and storage area.
- Ability to multitask and use time management skills.
- Ability to work on a team with friendly and clear communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Transport food from the kitchen to specific dining areas.
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
- Assist the Kitchen Manager in various tasks such as food prep and/or service.
- May be responsible for packaging food orders.
- Must be able to regularly move up to up to 20-30 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Including bending, reaching, lifting, and bending.
