Job summary:
This position is designed to consist of clinical administrative and supervisory activities as well as direct clinical work. The Clinical Director will provide clinical support, supervision, and direction for all CCAP clinical mental health outpatient staff, Integrated Behavioral Health Clinicians and Social Work Coordinator, oversee all behavioral health Performance Improvement activities, and assist with monitoring and compliance of State, Federal, HRSA, JCAHO, and NCQA regulations that pertain to clinical and case management services. In addition, a key job responsibility is to research, plan, design, implement and evaluate all clinical behavioral health professional development and training needs to meet federal and state requirements, as well as develop the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to effectively treat the BH clinic’s clients. This position will provide CCAP leadership with regular Performance Improvement Updates and program statistical reports in collaboration with the VP of FHS. Must be credentialed and privileged with CCAP to function as a Licensed Independent Practitioner.
Work Schedule Demands:
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, unless determined differently by VP of FHS. Due to the nature and responsibility of this work, this individual maintains a flexible schedule, which may go beyond a regular workweek. May be required to work at any CCAP location.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise assigned clinicians at their first tier of licensure and provide clinical sign-off of all clinical documentation
- Supervise independently licensed clinical supervisors on the clinical supervision team
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate all professional development needs of the staff in the BH Department, in addition to the CCBHC federal and state requirements
- Serve as the departments primary contact for emergency consultations regarding behavioral health crisis, during office hours
- Monitor existing policies for clinical compliance with State, Federal, HRSA, JCAHO regulations
- Identify Performance Improvement initiatives for the behavioral health, clinical and case management
- Coordinate staff members involved with Performance Improvement Projects
- Willingness to engage in self-evaluation and to establish goals for professional development
- Provides CCAP with Performance Improvement expertise
- Routine review of clients' status in treatment and monitoring of case files
- Participates in CCAP committees as determined by the VP of FHS
- Participates on CCAP Health/Behavioral Health Leadership
- Participates on community boards, committees as assigned
- Identifies, designs, implements, evaluates, and supervises Performance activities for clinical program
- Maintains standards of all clinical requirements including but not limited to, JCAHO, State of Rhode Island, BHDDH, HRSA and Federal standards
- Required programmatic and statistical reports as determined and requested by VP of FHS
- Receive administrative supervision from VP of FHS
- Routine review of client status in treatment and monitoring of case files
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Social Work or related field
- Hold an unrestricted independent license, LICSW, in the State of RI;
- 3-5 years of documented experience in clinical management; and management of complex / integrated behavioral health programs
- Demonstration of an understanding of professional behavioral health development and training
- A strong clinical direct practice history
- Provide/maintain all required immunizations and/or vaccinations
- Complete all required background checks
Communication Skills:
Must have excellent written and oral abilities. Must be able to convey essential information to staff.
Confidentiality of Information:
Has full access to clinical records in the CCAP Family Health Service program. Has access to some financial and administrative records. Maintains confidentiality of all materials in accordance with State and Federal laws and CCAP policies and procedures.

Transportation is necessary at times. Must follow all CCAP Environment of Care and Infection Control Policies.
