Summary
As a Qualified Medication Aide at Comprehensive Correctional Care (3C), you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe administration of medications to patients within correctional facilities. This role is vital in supporting our mission to provide exceptional healthcare services while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications to patients in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor and document patient responses to medications and report any adverse reactions.
- Assist in maintaining accurate medication records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide support in patient care activities, including vital sign monitoring and personal hygiene assistance.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients about their medications, including potential side effects and proper usage.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for medication administration.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Qualified Medication Aide or equivalent training.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration protocols.
- Experience in patient care settings, preferably within a correctional or assisted living environment.
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs and recognize changes in patient conditions.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
- Compassionate approach towards patient care, especially for individuals with developmental disabilities.
