Home Health Aide

Job Summary
The Home Health Aide plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals in their homes or assisted living facilities. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and experience in long-term care settings, particularly with patients requiring dementia care or memory care.

Duties

• Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Help with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor client health.
• Perform catheter care and assist with other medical needs.
• Maintain cleanliness in the client's living environment, including laundry and general cleaning tasks.
• Document client progress and maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding any changes in the client’s condition.

Skills

• Knowledge of long-term care practices and principles.
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to patient care.
• Ability to launder clothing and linens appropriately.
• Experience in catheter care and medication administration.
• Proficient in maintaining medical records accurately.
• Strong cleaning skills to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for clients.
• Understanding of dementia care techniques and strategies for memory care support.

Job Types: Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 8 per week
