Job Description
The Accounting Manager / Controller reports to the Chief Medical Officer / Executive Leadership. The Accounting Manager / Controller is responsible for duties related to financial reporting for CIC. This encompasses developing and maintaining GAAP accounting principles, delivering accurate and timely financial statements, supervising accounts payable, supervising payroll services, general ledger preparation, year-end audit preparation, tax preparations, all month end reporting, and facilitating communications with outside accounting resources and vendors. The Accounting Manager must be able to multi-task, perform job duties with a high degree of accuracy and meet stringent deadlines. Primary Job Responsibilities include :
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Preparing month end close for all locations. Including review of accounting transactions throughout the period and oversee preparation of monthly account reconciliations including bank statements, accrued liabilities, prepaid accounts, advance billings, fixed assets and accumulated depreciation and other ledger accounts as needed.
Collaborate with outside agency in the preparation of month-end Financial Statement Packages for Management Team at each location.
Perform basic bookkeeping and accounting tasks including verifying accuracy of general ledger accounts by reviewing expense reports, invoices, bills, purchase orders, payroll and other documents for accuracy at each location.
Oversee preparation of itemized payables for all locations. Collaborate with outside agency to ensure accurate and timely accounts payable workflow. Provide work-flow suggestions and direction for Office Manager & Medical Supply Purchaser at each location. Manage the processing and calculation of total expenses consistent with company policy and procedures. Prepare expense reports for each CIC location.
Perform bi-weekly payroll processing, including creating journal entry for outside agency. Track and record payroll accruals to include PTO.
Assists, develops and executes accounting policies, procedures, and directives to ensure the smooth operation of daily accounting activities.
Submits reports pertaining to financial operations to CMO / Executive leadership.
Collaborates with CMO / Executive leadership to identify accounting needs for CIC locations including data analyses and report generation.
Collaborates with outside CPA firm for year-end annual review.
Customer Service Expectation
Demonstrates customer services that is in keeping with vision of CIC. Providing accurate financial information, clear communication, and timely support to internal teams, leadership, and external partners. This role requires a collaborative approach to problem solving, maintaining confidentiality with healthcare regulations while fostering positive relationships across all levels of the organization.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business / accounting / finance from an accredited university or college. CPA preferred.
GAAP knowledge required.
5 Years of accounting experience, healthcare preferred.
Able to effectively interface with all levels of on-site and off-site employees and contractors.
Working knowledge of assigned systems and client organization and practices
Team player with a competitive spirit to excel and the ability to influence and motivate others.
Good communication skills, and capable of listening.
Wage Scale : $90,000 to $130,000
