Medical Assistant
The Medical Assistant in our orthopaedic office is primarily responsible for efficiently managing clinical workflows, ensuring timely documentation in the EMR, and supporting physicians in various medical procedures. They must exhibit professionalism, maintain a well-organized clinical workstation, and provide exceptional patient care. This position will require you to travel in between our offices in Wallingford, Meriden, Southington, and Cheshire.
Responsibilities:
- Input all orders and instructions accurately into the EMR, maintaining clear communication with providers.
- Assist in clinical processes such as removing casts, splints, sutures, and staples, while maintaining a focus on efficiency and patient comfort.
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and stocking of necessary supplies.
- Handle "doctor to doctor" calls, set up ultrasounds, and assist physicians with medical procedures, injections, and casting.
- Escort patients to examination rooms, assist with intake procedures, and help maintain patient flow to ensure timely appointments.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a medical assisting program or relevant certification.
- Proficient in EMR systems with the ability to accurately input orders and instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing compassionate patient care.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks effectively to support clinical operations.
- Willingness to cross-train and assist in administrative tasks such as checkout, authorization, and triage when necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
