Seeking: Remote Substance Use Disorder Counselor - Supporting our outpatient Opioid Treatment Program (OTP)

Requirements

• Masters Degree or Vermont LADC (Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor)
• Exensive clinical & telehealth experience
• This is a remote position; however, candidates must be on the East Coast due to early morning working hours (EST. time zone)

Remote Schedule

• Full Time: Monday - Friday: 5:30 AM - 1:00 PM, fully remote via telehealth
• Part Time: Also open to considering Part Time for those currently in fee for-service or those seeking PT schedules

Your Job As a Substance Use Disorder Counselor

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor is instrumental in our patient’s treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Substance Use Disorder Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in both individual and group counseling sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient's recovery.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
• Initial assessments as well as follow up assessments.
• Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.
• May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
• Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed.
• Provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care as needed.
• Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients, as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the social or health services field from an accredited college or university.
• If located outside the state of Vermont: Masters degree i n the social, psychology, or related health services field required
  
  

Required Skills And Experience

• Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in an addiction recovery, substance use, opioid use disorder, and/or MAT (medication-assisted treatment) environment.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a telehealth or remote therapy setting.
• Proficiency in telehealth platforms, familiarity with HIPAA-compliant technology, and basic computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust in a virtual environment.
  
  

Licenses/Certifications: 

• If located in Vermont: Must hold a current LADC (Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor) in the state of Vermont
• If located outside the state of Vermont: Masters degree i n the social, psychology, or related health services field required
