What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Shop Helper position at Compressor Engineering?
Position Summary
Responsible for performing various mechanical maintenance support duties associated with the processes of manufacturing products including material handling, equipment maintenance, and general clean–up.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Cleans all work areas including offices, restrooms, break/lunch rooms, and other public areas.
- Ensures all work is performed with the utmost attention to safety and professionalism.
- Checks machine coolant levels; mixes coolant; ensures coolant levels are maintained at desired levels.
- Prepares chemicals for Micro–sheen.
- Runs filter press to cycle vibrator and lapping machine waste.
- Cleans machine tooling and maintains evaporator and spray jet.
- Safely removes scraps and shavings from work areas and disposes of them properly.
- May assist machinists/operators with machine set–ups or change–overs.
- Responsible for safely moving raw materials and/or finished product as needed.
- Sweeps and mops shop hallways.
- Other duties as assigned.
Certifications/Skills:
- Operates Forklift
- Operates Pallet Jacks
- Operates various hand tools as needed
Minimum Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred
Minimum Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years working in a manufacturing setting.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds frequently. Ability to climb stairs and a ladder as required.
