Job Title: Experience Designer

Location: Philadelphia, PA/ Jersey City, NJ- Hybrid 4 days in office

Duration: 12 Months


Description:

The Associate Experience Designer role is an entry-level position that will contribute to a wide range of product design activities. The role is responsible for assisting in the design of experiences to address customer problems, combining user experience and user interface design principles. The role will support the design process to create intuitive solutions, enhancing the design and usability of Client’s digital solutions. It will also assist in implementing user-centered methodologies, contributing to strategy, research, design, and user testing.

What you will do:

• Assist in the execution of the UX process and implementation of projects associated with different business units.

• Support user-centric design practices. Help conceptualize interfaces, visualize digital experiences or applications, and understand how each touchpoint contributes to the overall user experience.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to analyze quantitative and qualitative user research. Assist in synthesizing user and customer data from various sources to identify opportunities; contribute to recommending user-centric design directions with a focus on human value, feasibility, and economy.

• Participate in user testing and qualitative sessions to improve engagement, usability, and affinity.

• Help apply, promote, and iterate design guidelines, best practices, and standards (i.e., Client Design System).

• Adhere to the existing responsive logic and assist in producing adaptive design screens. Provide support for UI implementation across different platforms and sites.

• Assist in illustrating design ideas using collaboration design tools such as Figma.


What you bring (qualifications)

Foundational skills:

• Eagerness to learn and challenge in a fast-pace and dynamic work environment.

• Ability to effectively interact with various roles within a multidisciplinary team.

• Good communication and time management skills, with a developing sense of ownership and urgency.

• Openness to feedback and an understanding of iterative design process, and an understanding that the first design is rarely the final design (i.e., MVP mindset).

• Interest in design thinking and human-centered design frameworks as well as Agile ways of working.


Design skills:

• Knowledge of the full spectrum of UX and UI design activities, which includes UX research, wireframing, high-fidelity UI design, user testing.

• Familiarity with collaborative design tools such as Figma, Mural, etc.

• A basic understanding of the design implementation beyond a concept design.

• Knowledge of responsive design and UI handoff.

• Familiarity with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.


Education:

Background in designing mobile and web applications OR Master’s/Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree in graphic design, computer science, design, fine arts, or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated UI/UX experience.
