Position Overview
We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to join our Data Management team. This role is essential for managing and ensuring the integrity and accessibility of data across the organization. The successful candidate will excel in facilitating data governance meetings, crafting detailed documentation, and overseeing initiatives such as data cataloging, data sharing agreements, data governance tooling (e.g., Collibra, Alation, or Informatica), and standardizing common data elements across various systems.
The organization seeks a highly motivated Adabas Linux Database and Server Administrator (DBSA) to support a "Lift and Shift of the on-premises legacy mainframe application to AWS Cloud. This role involves close collaboration with development teams to act as a liaison between the business community, technical development team, and Cloud Rehosting Vendors. The DBSA will play an integral role in supporting the cloud rehosting project, maintenance enhancements implemented on the cloud platform, or defect fixes to meet business requirements.
The first step in this initiative is to rehost the Natural/Adabas mainframe system in the AWS cloud. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a project that will transform the user experience. The successful candidate will support the AWS Cloud rehosting effort and facilitate the migration of the legacy mainframe system as a key strategic step toward broader organizational initiatives.
Detailed Job Duties and Responsibilities: Data Governance Analyst
- Facilitate and lead data governance meetings to ensure stakeholder alignment with data management standards.
- Generate functional and technical documentation, including detailed specifications for database fields, mappings to code, and application screen integrations.
- Manage data cataloging implementation using tools like Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) or Alation Data Catalog to improve data quality and accessibility.
- Create and maintain data-sharing agreements in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Standardize Common Data Elements (CDE) across multiple systems to improve consistency and accuracy.
- Define and implement database field elements, ensuring scalability and structure mappings to application screens and backend code.
- Develop strategies for mapping data elements for applications, functionalities, and interfaces, ensuring effective data integration and user experience.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to administer data governance principles and practices.
- Train business users on data governance policies and tools, including Informatica Axon, to ensure comprehensive understanding and adherence.
- Monitor and evaluate data practices, identifying opportunities for enhancements and data-driven processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in data management such as DAMA DMBOK or CDMP.
- Practical experience with data governance tooling products (e.g., Informatica Axon, Collibra, Alation).
- Strong organizational skills, problem-solving aptitude, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong initiative, ability to manage multiple projects, and strong follow-through skills.

Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of solid experience in data governance, data management, or similar roles.
- Strong facilitation skills with experience in leading meetings and workshops.
- Extensive knowledge of data catalog tools such as Informatica Axon or EDC, Collibra, and Alation.
- Familiarity with data protection laws and compliance requirements.
- Ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment and manage multiple projects.
