Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead multiple projects under the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI). This initiative aims to modernize data systems by creating a consolidated Enterprise Data Platform using modern cloud tools such as AWS and Snowflake and transitioning legacy systems to the new platform. These systems support public health analytics, enabling researchers, epidemiologists, and policymakers to make data-driven decisions.
The Senior Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects. Responsibilities include defining project scopes, managing resource capacity, overseeing change and release management, monitoring progress, mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams, facilitate communication among stakeholders, and ensure adherence to project management best practices and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
<>Project Planning and Execution- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Manage the entire project lifecycle, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Continuously monitor and adjust project plans to meet objectives.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies proactively.
- Monitor risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing contingency plans as needed.
- Provide actionable risk insights to stakeholders through regular reporting.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and gather feedback.
- Align project goals with strategic vision and operational needs.
- Partner with vendors, business teams, and technical teams to meet project goals.
- Facilitate clear communication between project teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Provide project updates, highlighting progress, risks, and issues, to stakeholders and executives.
- Prepare detailed project documentation consistent with departmental practices.
- Integrate project collaborators, data points, and processes into a unified solution.
- Develop a comprehensive view of project status, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Maintain rigorous control and governance frameworks for effective project delivery.
Qualifications
<>Minimum Experience/Skills- 5 7 years of experience in program and project management, preferably in healthcare.
- Proven expertise in managing complex technical programs and projects, including data management, data engineering, data warehousing, and data analytics.
- Strong experience with both Waterfall and Agile Scrum methodologies throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Comprehensive understanding of information systems and business functionality.
- Familiarity with AWS services, project management tools, and collaboration platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts into business terms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead meetings and work sessions effectively with staff at all levels.
- Familiarity with healthcare data.
- Knowledge of Agile principles and experience working in an Agile environment.
- Understanding of cloud platforms and their applications.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification.
- Strong customer service orientation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and conflicting information.
