Our precision recruiting process aligns the right fit for the right people.Our global client is looking for a strong Junior Data Center Technician to work onsite at their world-class data center in Cincinnati, OH. This Technician will be working the hours of 4 : 00pm to 12 : 30am, Sunday to Thursday.Duties and Responsibilities : Coordinate with and take direction from the Client Facilities team(s)Complete work orders within mutually agreed service windowsConfirm that the Change Control policies are fully adhered to for all work orders and other data center related activitiesInstall hardware and provide connectivity according to Client provided standardsInstall, configure, and prepare servers for operating system loadsBuild, test, and run cables between devices, peripherals, and network demarcation pointsManage the shipping of old equipment and the delivery of new equipment and maintain tracking informationMaintain records for assets so that all moves, adds, deletes, and changes are properly tracked and recordedMaintain remote access connections into the data center environmentAssist Client Level 2 and Level 3 support teams in troubleshooting hardware / network issuesProvide onsite hands and feet supportVerify status lights on servers and network connectionsPerform low-level repairs; e.g., swap drivesInstall and maintain cabling following published standardsValidate that all system placements follow space allocation plansMonitor the data center infrastructure for normal operation including, but not limited to, water leaks, abnormal sounds, and hot spots within the room, and report any deviation from standards set by the ClientSubmit requests to maintenance and contact agents for various activities related to facilities and infrastructureCoordinate the installation of new or changed power requirements with the Client Facilities team(s)Maintain site facilities needs according to health and safety requirements as directedMaintain data centers and all workspaces associated with the data center in a clean and professional mannerSupport unstaffed tertiary data centers as requested by the ClientSkills and Qualifications : Strong communication skillsAble to take direction from the DC team lead / program managerInterface with client's staffBe capable / highly efficient with speaking, reading, and writing fluid EnglishTechnical skills in various compute / network technologies, including : Clustering conceptsHardware (Physical Support) : Servers, Blade Systems, Network Switches, Network Firewalls, Assorted Network Gear, Basic Understanding of SAN / NAS connectivity & topologyHardware (Logical Support) : Basic understanding of operating systems, asset logon capabilities (as per requests), ILO / management configuration capabilitiesNetwork topology and redundancyStructured and RTS Cabling : design, buildout, troubleshooting / diagnostics & best practicesRack layouts / management, for capacity planning / managementIn-rack power distribution (i.e. PDU's, CDU's, UPS's)Strong analytical skillsData center operations experienceInventory management (asset & infrastructure based)Good incident / problem solving skillset$30.00 - $33.00 per hourWe offer a comprehensive benefit package that you can elect into including but not limited to : Health Insurance (Medical, Vision, Dental), 401k, Basic Life / AD&D, Supplemental Insurances Plans, Paid Time Off Plan, Paid Holiday, Paid Sick Leave plan, FSA / HSA Pre-Tax Benefits, Employee Discounts.W2 only, no Corp to Corp.
