Job Summary :
Join a cross-functional team of engineers and scientists to contribute to new product development, early phase evaluations, and legacy products. The Laboratory Technician will perform FTIR and SEM analyses on samples, assist in training lab personnel, and ensure the accurate tracking of chemicals and materials. This role will require compliance with laboratory practices and international standards, while also supporting administrative functions and making presentations to the team.
Key Responsibilities :
Analysis & Instrumentation : Perform FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) analyses on samples. Assist in training lab personnel on instrument use.
Documentation & Reporting : Ensure reports are completed and signed off in a timely manner. Handle administrative tasks such as reporting, routing for DocuSign, and filing reports.
Safety & Compliance : Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure the tracking of lab chemicals (SDS’s) and materials. Ensure compliance with international standards, such as ISO 10993 and ISO 17025.
SVHC Management : Track and order standards of SVHCs (Substances of Very High Concern), submit standards for testing to confirm identification.
Collaboration : Work within a cross-functional team and contribute to milestone delivery for product development and evaluations. Assist in creating and updating work instructions for laboratory equipment use.
Hands-On Experience : Gain hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, including FTIR, SEM, and potentially HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) when time allows.
Presentations : Prepare and deliver presentations to the group as needed.
Requirements :
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience : No prior experience required; a willingness to learn and grow in the laboratory environment is essential.
Licenses / Certifications : None required
Additional Information :
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision from scientists and managers.
Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety and environmental practices.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team to meet project milestones.
