Shift : Monday – Friday; 40hours; 8 : 00AM – 5 : 00PM; Weekend work on rotation
Key Responsibilities
- Performing day to day greenhouse / growth chamber activities including planting, pollinating, tissue sampling, pest / disease scouting, harvesting, threshing, discarding, chamber sanitation, general plant care, data collection, data entry, facility cleanliness and maintaining safety standards
- Must want to work within a greenhouse facility- there is no lab work.
- Collecting tissue samples off of soybean plants for DNA analysis
- Perform planting, transplanting, plant crossing, harvest, and discard of Soybean and / or Wheat plants.
- Assisting in operating the soybean threshing machine
- Plant maintenance including trimming, training, and node cleaning
- Cross pollinating, plant discard
- Need to be comfortable working with soybean, wheat, pollen and dust
- Cleaning of the facility and other basic duties as assigned
