Job Summary :
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the safe, accurate, and professional operation and maintenance of valves and fire hydrants. This role includes following written procedures for assessing, operating, maintaining, and testing these systems. Additionally, the Field Service Technician will assist with tool and equipment assembly, ensure a clean and safe work environment, and support the Crew Chief's duties to facilitate advancement opportunities within the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate and maintain valves and fire hydrants, following written procedures for testing and servicing.
- Assist with tool and equipment assembly and disassembly under supervision, including cleaning tools and equipment.
- Actively participate in onsite safety and planning meetings, reviewing safety risks and addressing concerns based on planning documentation and onsite observations.
- Keep the work site clean and free from tripping hazards, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of workers and motorized equipment.
- Secure all items loaded on the truck for safe over-the-road travel in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and local Department of Transportation guidelines.
- Assist in securing loads using straps and chains, ensuring all items are properly fastened.
- Maintain vehicle, yard, and loading areas by keeping them clear of debris and trash, and ensure equipment is organized for easy access.
- Follow safety processes and procedures, maintaining a "Safety First" approach when completing daily tasks.
- Complete a Job Safety Assessment before beginning any job on a customer site.
- Ensure compliance with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Participate in client Watermark volunteer activities as required.
