Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and operating Central Utility Plant (CUP) equipment, including boilers, chillers, pumps, air compressors, and ancillary systems. This role involves monitoring, preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and responding to system alarms to ensure all site systems operate within specified parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform operations, preventive maintenance, basic equipment repairs, installations, and corrective maintenance on CUP equipment such as boilers, chillers, chilled water pumps, condenser pumps, cooling towers, air compressors, and HVAC systems.
- Respond to calls from business units, document issues, and professionally dispatch maintenance teams as necessary.
- Conduct basic repairs and installations of piping systems, including welding, soldering / sweating, gluing, and working with various materials such as black iron, stainless steel, copper, and PVC.
- Inspect major site systems, troubleshoot operational problems, and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor building automation systems, respond to alarms, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work in confined spaces and perform underground vault work, such as replacing valves, steam traps, insulation, and pipes.
- Comply with safety standards, including wearing ANSI safety shoes and personal protective equipment.
- Complete required physical and audiometric examinations.
- Ensure daily and punctual attendance at the job site.
