Manufacturing Engineer Technician – Skill Tech Level III
Location: Charleston Turbo Plant
Department: Assembly and Test Area
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime as required)
12 Months Contract Possibility of Extension or Conversion
Pay: $35 - $39 per hour
Summary:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Technician to join our team at the Charleston Turbo Plant, working in the Assembly and Test Area. This role will support Manufacturing Engineers in New Product Development and will require a strong technical background, including experience in electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and tooling/fixturing troubleshooting. As part of the team, you will assist in the installation and modification of equipment, support engineering trial builds, and prepare assembly lines for new products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support new equipment installations and modifications to existing assembly stations.
- Troubleshoot assembly cells (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and tooling/fixturing).
- Assist in engineering trial builds on the assembly line and prepare these lines for new product launches.
- Collaborate with Plant TPM, Prototype Shop, external suppliers for tooling designs, and outsourced components.
- Support Capital Project Management for Assembly & Test Areas.
- Train associates on new or modified workstations.
- Update control documents and station documentation.
- Quickly learn and utilize SAMS Integration/Interface System.
- Provide medium-level electrical and controls support, including troubleshooting input/output programs for stations.
- Work on high-tech systems and automation, including vision systems, laser systems, torque tools, falsifying technology, and robots/cobots.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule as upfits/new program installations often happen on weekends or during holiday outages due to assembly line availability.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Mechatronics Technician or similar role, preferably in a high-volume assembly process.
- Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with experience working with state-of-the-art technology on assembly lines.
- Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving ability.
- A team player with a proven track record of success in similar roles.

- 3-5 years of experience as a Mechatronics Technician in a high-volume assembly process.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, especially with cutting-edge technology used in assembly lines.
- Self-starter, fast learner, and team-oriented with a demonstrated history of success.

- Pay rate: $35 - $39 per hour.
- Work schedule: 100% onsite with standard hours from 7 AM – 3:30 PM, with overtime as needed.
