Job Description

Job Summary :

The Material Handler plays a vital role in supporting production by moving, transferring, and pulling orders to ensure the production process runs smoothly. This position involves performing inventory transactions in Oracle and delivering products to production to complete work orders. The Material Handler ensures that all materials are staged, organized, and readily available to support production needs.

Key Responsibilities :

Material Staging and Organization : Stage materials in designated areas and maintain organization to ensure smooth operations.
Work Environment Maintenance : Maintain a clean and safe work environment while performing Material Handler duties.
Equipment Operation : Operate equipment such as forklifts, walkie riders, order selectors, or pallet jacks to deliver materials to production areas.
Inventory Management : Pick and pull materials from the warehouse or Kanban areas and perform necessary Oracle transactions.
Return Handling : Weigh, verify, and stock materials returned from production back to the warehouse or Kanban locations.
Material Verification : Ensure part numbers, lot numbers, quantities, and locations are accurate when pulling materials for production.
Finished Goods Handling : Move finished goods from the staging hall to the warehouse to clear space.
Label Control : Ensure that labels are correct and correspond with the materials and work orders.
Work Order Reconciliation : Reconcile work orders, ensuring correct materials are issued and all transactions are completed properly.
Cycle Counts : Perform daily cycle counts and zone counting as instructed.
Safety Compliance : Follow all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Shift Tasks : Perform shift-related tasks as required, including pulling and transacting move orders and material requests.
Oracle Error Resolution : Resolve Oracle errors as needed to ensure accurate inventory management.

Required Qualifications :

Skills :

Ability to read, write, perform basic calculations, and navigate through complex computer programs accurately.

Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently.

Forklift experience is required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Oracle experience preferred.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to sit, stand, or kneel for long periods of time.

Ability to occasionally move and lift objects up to 40 lbs.

Must be able to use a computer or touchscreen to enter work order data.

Ability to work around automated robots and heavy equipment.

Education and Experience :

High School diploma or GED equivalent required.

One year or more of related experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications :

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have open availability and be able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule if needed.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Travel Requirements :

Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment :

Work is performed in a clean room environment.

Ability to work around automated robots and heavy equipment.
