Job Title: Principal Consultant in Nursing Analytics
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19104, Remote
Compensation: Estimated around $130k base for non RN, $150k for RN
Focus: Analyzing nursing data to support workforce dynamics, engagement, and retention.
Requirements: Advanced knowledge in nursing or clinical analytics, understanding of workplace dynamics in a healthcare setting, and competency in strategic consulting for nursing leadership.
Target Candidates: Ideally, someone with healthcare or clinical background, potentially with experience in similar roles at healthcare institutions or consultancies like McKinsey. Being an RN is a plus.

Summary:
- The Principal Consultant, Strategic Decision Support --Nursing operates within the Penn Medicine with expertise at the intersection of data analysis, business intelligence, and strategic consulting. The Principal Consultant provides breakthrough insights that drive decision-making within Penn Medicine and clarifies complex business issues based on broad industry knowledge and client understanding. The Principal Consultant will learn, develop, and demonstrate strong skills in hypothesis-based consulting, analytics, and storyboarding. As part of Strategic Decision Support (SDS) within the Data and Analytics (DnA) Center of Excellence, the Principal Consultant works on a team that aims to blend technical, clinical, and analytical skills to improve outcomes, optimize processes, and drive business growth. The Principal Consultant should demonstrate skills in exploring new ideas and the humility to collaborate often with stakeholders to push the thinking. The Principal Consultant will support Senior Penn Medicine nurse leaders and stakeholders on issues of broad importance to ensure timely, relevant analyses that align with business objectives. As such, they must be able to structure, execute, and communicate analytical findings to senior audiences.
Responsibilities:

Understands broader client context to enable greater impact in current project and strengthen platform for future collaboration. Partners with executive clients to build organizational commitment to action.

Education or Equivalent Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science: Business, Statistics, Information Technology, Healthcare Management or related field. (Required)
- And 7 years Progressive experience in data analysis, strategy development, and stakeholder engagement, preferably in a healthcare or academic setting. Proven track record of independently leading projects from concept to execution, coordinating with cross-functional teams, as needed.
- Master of Arts or Science Business, Statistics, Information Technology, Healthcare Management or related field. (Preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
- 7 years experience working with large, complex datasets, conducting data analyses, and generating insights. Hands on experience with nursing data. Proven track record of independently leading projects from concept to execution, coordinating with cross-functional teams, as needed. (Required)
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in analysis and/or data visualization tools. Experience with nursing data systems, such as National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and nursing quality data sets such as NCQA-HEDIS and NDNQI. (Preferred)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., data analytics or nursing informatics). (Preferred)
