What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research And Development Scientist position at Compunnel Inc.?
12 months contract
1. Calculate and prepare laboratory formulations and chemical solutions.
2. Perform laboratory screening of new membrane formulations
3. Perform screening of new membrane formulations working with manufacturing equipment and personnel during R&D pilot runs.
4. Collect, analyze, interpret, and report data and experimental findings.
6. Fabricate and / or modify experimental apparatus or manufacturing equipment.
7. Assist in the development of new testing methods or procedures.
8. Provide general laboratory and administrative support including, but not limited to, inventory maintenance, safety audits, and maintenance and upkeep of the laboratory and warehouse.
10. Perform other general support duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
The successful candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities :
1. Must have an AA or higher completed degree / diploma in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Biology or a related field or 2-3 years of laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
2. Able to work at least 30 hours per week, but may work 40 hours per week
3. Critical thinking and good problem-solving skills.
4. Detail oriented, diligent, careful in observation and work.
5. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. The desire and ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary, fast-paced team environment. Being adaptable and open to change.
