We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with NICU experience to join our dynamic team in the Special Care Nursery and Postpartum unit. This role involves providing high-quality care to newborns in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery, attending every delivery, and supporting stable postpartum couplets. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for neonatal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Neonatal Care: Provide care for Level 2 Special Care Nursery babies when the nursery is open, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and supporting feeding and developmental needs.
- Delivery Attendance: Attend every delivery to provide immediate neonatal recovery and stabilization for newborns.
- Postpartum Support: Float to the LDRP unit to care for stable postpartum couplets (maximum of 2 couplets), ensuring mother-baby bonding and recovery support.
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously assess and monitor infants for signs of distress, administer interventions as needed, and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop care plans.
- On-Call Duties: Be available for on-call shifts as required, with a maximum of 16 hours of call in a 6-week period.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care, assessments, and interventions in electronic medical records.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Family Support: Provide emotional support, education, and guidance to families regarding newborn care, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
- Current RN license in [Insert State].
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- NICU experience is required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
