Job Summary :
Our customer, one of the nation's leading telecommunications and services companies, is seeking an experienced Cisco Network Consultant to support an ongoing managed support project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing day-2 support for Cisco network systems, troubleshooting network and hardware issues, and serving as an advisor to the client's IT support teams and users. This role requires an expert-level understanding of Cisco networking, end-to-end network knowledge, and experience in a consultative environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Troubleshooting & Troubleshooting Isolation : Resolve network and hardware issues within a complex core Cisco enterprise networking environment.
- Configuration & Implementation Support : Assist in the configuration and implementation of new or existing customer equipment within their data network and integrate it with other services.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with the Project Lead, engineering team, cross-functional team members, Account Executives (Sales), and customer stakeholders to deliver seamless network support.
- Customer Escalation Management : Identify, respond to, and resolve customer escalations and requests promptly and effectively.
- Cisco iOS Expertise : Provide support and guidance with Cisco iOS and various routing and access layer models.
- SOP Alignment : Merge customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with network capabilities and procedures to ensure alignment.
- Change Management : Understand and adapt to the customer’s change management policies and procedures for seamless network operations.
- Post-Cutover Process : Assist in developing post-cutover processes and procedures for improved customer network management.
- Network Troubleshooting : Leverage network diagrams, devices, and understanding of routing to benchmark and troubleshoot effectively.
- Networking Protocols : Extensive understanding of networking protocols, including IP, DHCP, and broadcasting addresses.
- VMware Knowledge : Understand how VMware impacts and interacts with the network.
- Voice & Data Integration : Understand how integrated voice and data systems communicate with hardware.
- Network Security : Possess strong security / firewall experience, with a focus on securing networks from a route / switch perspective.
- Microsoft Networking & Troubleshooting : Troubleshoot PC or server issues related to network access.
- Site Visits : Comfortable returning to the customer's onsite location once it is deemed safe by state and local authorities.
Required Qualifications :
Certifications :
Cisco CCNP (R / S) and CCNA are required.
CCIE or working toward it is a plus.
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics or equivalent and relevant work experience.

CCIE certification (or working toward it).
Cisco ICE experience.
Experience working with security / firewall solutions in enterprise environments.
Other Requirements :
On-Call Rotation : Must be comfortable with overnight hours when required and part of a rotating 3-week on-call schedule (one week per rotation).
