Job Summary :
Client is transforming their Data Engineering and BI platform to deliver modern, efficient solutions using cutting-edge technologies. We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Architect to lead the design, build, and maintenance of the Circle K Data Platform in Azure. In this role, you will ensure the architecture aligns with business objectives, supports new initiatives, and enhances existing data capabilities. This is part of a multi-year initiative, initially offered as a 6 month contract with potential for extension or full-time conversion.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and Architect Solutions : Leverage Azure Cloud data platforms to provide subject matter expertise in designing and maintaining scalable solutions.
- Platform Adoption : Drive adoption and usage of Azure Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI within the data platform.
- Architectural Assessments : Perform assessments and define solutions, producing detailed design documents addressing complex data needs.
- Platform Governance : Collaborate with teams to define and implement platform governance initiatives.
- Collaboration with Architects : Work with other architects within the Enterprise Architecture team to secure approval from the Architecture Review Board for new initiatives.
- Technical Direction : Provide guidance on Azure platform services, system configurations, integration patterns, and leveraging platform features to meet business needs.
- Mentorship : Mentor Data Engineering and Data Science teams, ensuring efficient usage of Azure services, security protocols, and performance tuning.
- Platform Performance : Provide technical support for platform performance tuning and optimization activities.
- Roadmap Creation : Participate in creating and maintaining technical roadmaps for the data platform.
- PoCs & Technology Evaluations : Lead Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) and evaluations of new technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
- Security Strategy : Collaborate with Information Security Architect to implement security strategies, including identity management, access control, and data encryption in Azure.
- Monitoring & Automation : Define and implement monitoring frameworks for data pipelines and automate platform deployments using CI / CD and IaC frameworks such as Terraform or Azure DevOps.
