Job Description :
The Credit Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of credit-related activities, including data entry, customer communications, and collaboration with the sales team regarding credit applications. The role involves credit releases, credit references, monitoring credit limits, and reconciling complex customer accounts. The Credit Assistant performs these tasks under moderate supervision while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities :
- Credit Application Management :
- Vet all new applications for completeness and accuracy in line with established procedures.
- Conduct creditworthiness reviews through credit reporting providers, financial statements, and payment history.
- Set up new customer accounts or amend existing customer accounts in the system.
- Account Reconciliation & Monitoring :
- Reconcile complex customer accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved.
- Monitor and report on accounts receivable balances, ensuring they are within credit limits to support forecasting.
- Review blocked orders and release them where appropriate, in line with credit policies.
- Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports as required.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Cummins Business Services, Sales, and other business units to identify potential credit issues and propose solutions.
- Monitor cash sale accounts and report on balances owed.
- Escalation & Risk Management :
- Escalate high-risk customers to the Credit Manager / Sales team for further action.
- Ensure that all local credit activities are in compliance with Corporate Credit Policies.
