Job Summary :
The Warehouse Operator position involves performing routine, non-routine, and complex assignments while operating highly sophisticated equipment under general supervision. This role supports manufacturing by handling raw materials, finished goods, and waste throughout the production floor and warehouse.
Key Responsibilities :
• Pull finished goods from storage areas.
• Put away raw materials in storage areas.
• Safely drive and operate a forklift.
• Load and unload trucks as needed.
• Understand and follow pick lists and Bills of Lading (BOL).
• Operate pumps for off-loading tankers.
• Perform set-up and clean-up for tasks.
• Actively participate in safety programs, 5S initiatives, and daily checklists.
• Follow operating procedures for proper inventory, handling, and staging of materials.
• Verify incoming and outgoing shipments; manage returned, damaged, or obsolete materials.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area by using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintaining a disciplined work ethic.
• Consolidate and organize warehouse and outside storage areas.
• Participate and contribute to Health & Safety, Security, and Environmental activities (SAFE meetings, BBS observation, HS&E training, housekeeping, and 5S).
• Follow shipping regulatory requirements such as DOT, DHS, TSCA, and CT-PAT.
• Maintain storage of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods; provide materials for batch makers, adjusters, tinters, and fill-off production as needed, while following all safety guidelines and procedures.
Required Qualifications :
• High school graduate or equivalent and at least 18 years of age.
• Forklift certified.
• Prior warehouse or logistics experience preferred.
• Excellent reading and comprehension skills.
• Good math and communication skills.
• Must be safety-conscious and capable of following directions.
• Ability to make independent decisions with good judgment.
• Self-motivated with high standards for performance.
• Ability to work effectively with various types of personalities.
• Must have a positive attitude and be adaptable to changing company needs.
Physical Requirements :
• Ability to lift 50-70 pounds.
• Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per day.
• Ability to work from elevated platforms and access stairways.
• Arm-hand steadiness to maintain hand or arm position steadily.
• Near vision ability to read labels and see details up close.
Certifications :
• Forklift certification required.
