What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Compunnel?
Job Summary :
The Material Handler is responsible for supporting logistics operations by using a fork truck to unload and offload materials into designated areas. This role ensures the efficient movement of materials, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards in the work environment. The Material Handler will also be tasked with managing inventory and ensuring materials are ready for use following FIFO procedures.
Key Responsibilities :
- Load and offload trucks from the south dock and transport materials to arranged locations.
- Remove empty containers and transport them to designated areas.
- Load sealer material and wax according to the specified schedule.
- Make daily trips to the Mail Room and deliver packages to appropriate areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping in work areas and storage locations.
- Notify Logistics Lead of any abnormal issues found during the initial walk-through in the first hour of the shift (e.g., empty barrels / totes, process materials, waste stations).
- Ensure materials are prepared according to FIFO procedures.
- Monitor products both online and offline, ensuring they are in place and not within range of expiring.
- Support and follow all company policies and procedures, maintaining a positive and professional manner.
- Work a minimum of 40 hours per week on-site, with the potential for additional hours as required by the Logistics Manager.
- Ensure compliance with all safety training requirements.
- Update and maintain the sealer board.
- Change sealer system filters on schedule.
- Support FIFO stock management in Kitting, Wax, and Sealer.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Logistics Lead.
